Synopsis
The film follows the tumultuous life of Miguel Piñero, a poet, playwright, and actor whose work was deeply influenced by his experiences with crime, addiction, and incarceration. His most famous play, Short Eyes, was written while he was serving time in Sing Sing Prison and became a Tony Award-winning production. Despite his success, Piñero struggled with self-destruction, ultimately succumbing to his demons in 1988.
