Here is a vintage rustic ladle. The main part of the dipper is made of copper and was tested by a magnet to confirm it is made of copper. The handle we believe is made of iron and does stick to a magnet. The handle has a small hole in the end of it for easy hanging. This does have some oxidation from use and wear as shown.
The length is 13 1/2 inches. The inside opening diameter is 4 1/4 inches. The base diameter is 3 1/4 inches. The height is about 2 inches.
This could easily be repurposed, or it would look great in a rustic kitchen or farmhouse style decor.
A copper ladle with an iron handle is a timeless kitchen tool that combines functionality with rustic charm. The ladle typically features a hand-shaped copper bowl, which is durable and ideal for serving soups, stews, or sauces. The iron handle is often twisted or forged, adding a traditional colonial aesthetic. These ladles are food-safe but require care when used with acidic ingredients like vinegar or tomatoes, as copper can be sensitive to such items. To ensure longevity, it's recommended to dry the ladle thoroughly after each use and apply a light coating of food-grade oil to prevent rust on the iron handle.
