Old habits die hard. In this raw and haunting indie drama, Vera Farmiga delivers a breakout performance as Irene, a working-class mother in upstate New York struggling to hide her cocaine addiction while raising two sons and maintaining a crumbling marriage. As winter sets in and a new romance begins, Irene’s fragile recovery is tested by temptation, isolation, and the weight of her past. Winner of the Sundance Special Jury Prize and Director’s Award, Down to the Bone is a stark, emotionally charged portrait of addiction and resilience.
